Screens: VNC Remote Desktop App Reviews

I dont always need a VNc app, but when I do, Screens is always working great and lets me get in and out fast. Great interactions smooth the process of working with a desktop using my iPad. And it works great over the Internet. Five stars.

Great app, works as advertised, effective on both the iPad and the iPhone. Worth the price.

I switched from LogMeIn. One big advantage is that Screens will wake up my Mac from sleep which LogMeIn cannot do (if the computer is on wifi). Instructions could be a little better, but once set up its simple to use and quick to respond.

I love what Apple has done with the iPhone 6. It took me a while to get used to the bigger screen, but now I cant live without it. Cant wait to see what Apple has planned for the iPhone 7!

Screens is, by far, the best app for remote access. Trackpad mode is extremely valuable, as are all the details they thought out that makes remote workable. Dont waste your time on other VNC clients. This is the one to use!

Ive been a Screens user from early 2011 and this app keeps getting better. Its just the best vnc app out there bar none.

If you need to use an iOS device to remotely access a Mac, this app is certainly class leading. My only complaint is that it doesnt offer very good support for Windows VNC sessions, but for Macintosh oriented users, this app is great.

This is an incredibly useful app. It has a great design, thoughtful features, and very easy to use. Highly recommended.

I have been using screens for years and recommended it to many, many friends. Unfortunately, after a major release about a year ago it has gone down hill and I am now looking to switch. The introduction of screens connect was promising but in my experience, 9 times out of 10 it shows no computers in my screens connect section, even though I have one in there. It is random and intermittent. I have uninsTalled, re-installed, re-configured many times but it simple does not work. When it does see it it will connect, but so infrequently that its useless... Even connecting within my house on local wifi has stopped working reliably. As I write this my iPhone is connected via screens to my Mac mini, but screens on my iPad shows no available computers. What the?? I have read the other positive reviews below and simply dont understand them. Screens connect is NOT easy or intuitive to configure - it uses a 3rd party component and the UI is unclear. You can tell if you have it configured correctly or not. Really disappointed and will find something else for VNC.

Ive been using screens for over a year and its served me well in emergencies. Once feature I would love is the ability to screen share with a current user without requiring a prompt. My screen sharing sessions are to often to OS X Servers, where the CLI isnt cutting it. Services are run within a standard user and I screen share using an Administrator account. There is no way for the server to automatically accept the share prompt so my alternative is starting a session as my administrator user, logging out via the gui and logging back in as the service user. Somewhat annoying as the Mac VNC client can screen share without prompting.

I use this nearly every day. I cant imagine going back to the alternatives.

Good VNC client; probably the best out there. Now compatible with IOS 9 -- It’s working again!! Good thing we impatients users don’t have access to developper releases! ;)

Although I have used VNC programs in the past I have never set one up. It was a little tricky but not too difficult. The documentation is good and provided all of the assistance. I required. Once setup, the program is very easy to use. Many of the actions required to operate a PC remotely are intuitive or easy to find on the user interface.

Fantastically useful when you need to access your computer remotely. Great control setup too—intuitive yet capable.

...and it works seamlessly

I had the previous version and it was great. This version is bloody fantastic. So much more fluid and responsive. I amended a job for work today via my iPad and it was hardly any slower than if I had been there. Amazing.
